Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship

Welcome

The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship Program at UPMC/University of Pittsburgh is one of the largest in the nation. Our program provides an exceptional learning environment that prepares fellows to become expert clinicians, clinician-educators, physician-scientists, and academic leaders.

The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism offers a collegial community of faculty, trainees, and staff working in state-of-the-art clinical and research facilities. Fellows gain broad clinical experience across a diverse spectrum of endocrine disorders, from common diseases to rare and complex conditions, through rotations at UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC Magee, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Our clinical strengths are broad including internationally-recognized expertise in the management of diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary and adrenal disorders, and bone metabolism/osteoporosis.

Consistently ranked in the top ten nationally among universities in NIH funding, the University of Pittsburgh provides a rich scientific environment that supports both clinical and translational research. Our NIH T32-funded Training Program in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism leverages these strengths to help fellows pursue innovative, career-shaping research opportunities.

Beyond the program, Pittsburgh offers a vibrant and affordable city with diverse neighborhoods, cultural depth, and access to nature, fostering both professional growth and personal well-being. We invite you to explore our website, reach out with questions, and visit us to experience what makes our program exceptional.
