Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism (EDM) Research Seminar

1st and 3rd Wednesday of the Month, 1:00-2:00 pm
The EDM Research Seminar meets biweekly and features full-length presentations by research faculty and trainees in the Division of Endocrinology, as well as invited speakers from across the University of Pittsburgh and collaborating institutions. The series highlights innovative, cross-disciplinary work often showcasing emerging discoveries and paradigm-shifting research that shapes the future of endocrinology and metabolism.

University-Wide Conference (Endocrine Grand Rounds)

Fridays, 8:30-9:30 am
University-Wide Conference is our premier weekly conference consisting of lectures presented by outstanding external and internal speakers. Lectures focus on groundbreaking research and advances in clinical care.

Patient Care Conference

Fridays, 9:30-10:30 am
Patient Care Conference is a case-based presentation led by our clinical fellows. The conference provides a forum for a robust discussion between faculty and fellows of clinical findings, interpretation of laboratory results, radiologic procedures, pathologic findings, surgical results and treatment plans.

Bone Club Conference

1st Tuesday, 4:30-5:30 pm
The conference rotates between clinical case discussions involving difficult and interesting management and diagnosis issues, ongoing research program reviews, outside speakers, and fellow journal clubs.

Multidisciplinary Thyroid Cancer Conference

3rd Wednesday, 4:30-6:00 pm
A monthly multidisciplinary conference including a multidisciplinary group of radiologists, thyroid surgeons, pathologists, and endocrinologists. Each session focuses on a thyroid cancer topic, with discussion led by a presenter following a literature review.

Adrenal Conference

1st Wednesday, 5:00-6:00 pm
A multidisciplinary team of endocrinologists, radiologists, pathologists, and endocrine surgeons collaborates to review and discuss complex adrenal disease cases. Fellows from both specialties present cases, fostering shared learning and coordinated patient care.

Pituitary Conference

1st Thursday, 5:00-6:00 pm
A multidisciplinary group of endocrinologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, and neuropathologists reviews recent cases of patients with hypothalamic and pituitary disease. The endocrinology fellow presents the cases followed by a detailed and robust multidisciplinary discussion.

Diabetes Journal Club

Monthly literature reviews covering key developments in diabetes, ranging from groundbreaking basic research discoveries to clinical trials.

Fellows Board Review

Weekly sessions focused on Endocrinology board preparation, emphasizing practical diagnostic and management topics under faculty guidance.

Obesity Journal Club

A monthly multidisciplinary review attended by providers across specialties.

Research in Progress

Monthly presentations of ongoing fellow research projects, with constructive feedback from divisional faculty.

Summer Lecture Series

An eight-week summer curriculum covering foundational topics in endocrine physiology, biochemistry, and disease mechanisms.

Thyroid Cytology Conference

A monthly review of complex thyroid cytology cases incorporating advanced molecular diagnostics. This conference is led by members of the multidisciplinary thyroid program, including members of the Department of Pathology.
