Combined Adult and Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program
Welcome from the Program Directors
We are pleased to introduce the Combined Adult and Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship, a collaborative four-year training program jointly offered by the Renal-Electrolyte Division in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics. This innovative program reflects a growing national trend toward integrated, dual-subspecialty training that prepares physicians to care for patients with kidney disease across all stages of life.
Graduates of this combined program will develop deep expertise in the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of kidney diseases, from congenital and childhood-onset disorders to chronic and complex kidney disease in adults. Training will encompass chronic kidney disease, hypertension, nephrolithiasis, mineral and bone disorders, tubular, interstitial, and cystic diseases, glomerular and vascular disorders, as well as all forms of kidney replacement therapy, including hemodialysis, continuous kidney replacement therapies, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation. Fellows will also gain the procedural and clinical skills needed to provide care for critically ill patients and to lead multidisciplinary teams across pediatric and adult care settings.
More than a pathway to dual certification, this program offers a comprehensive, longitudinal training experience that fosters curiosity, compassion, and leadership. Fellows will benefit from mentorship by world-class faculty in both departments, exposure to diverse patient populations, and opportunities for scholarly work that bridges pediatric and adult nephrology. Graduates will emerge as uniquely skilled specialists poised to advance the science and delivery of kidney care across the lifespan.
