Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology Fellowship Program
Program Overview
Fellows gain comprehensive clinical experience across a wide range of inpatient and outpatient settings, including tertiary care centers, community hospitals, the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, and specialized rheumatology clinics. This diverse training environment exposes fellows to both common and complex multisystem rheumatic diseases. The program includes six clinical fellows (three per year) and offers the option of a third year of advanced research training, supported through an NIH T32 Training Grant or other mechanisms.
The fellowship offers individualized training paths that align with each fellow’s career goals in clinical practice, medical education, or research. Whether pursuing advanced clinical experience, developing as a clinician-educator, or engaging in basic or translational investigation, fellows receive structured mentorship and support to achieve their professional objectives.
The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology remains at the forefront of discovery and patient care. Our faculty includes internationally recognized experts in rheumatology, immunology, and epidemiology who are deeply committed to mentorship and advancing the field through discovery and education. We pride ourselves on offering a flexible, mentorship-driven training environment that equips every fellow with the skills, experience, and confidence to thrive in their chosen career path.
