About Us
One of the largest Classical hematology programs in the nation, the University of Pittsburgh Division of Classical Hematology has over 10 physician-scientists and research investigators leading efforts in hemophilia, sickle cell disease, and other rare blood disorders. Through longstanding collaborations with Vitalant and the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania, the Division integrates a large clinical program with robust basic and translational research.

The Division of Classical Hematology is a nationally recognized leader in advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of hematologic disorders through basic, translational, and clinical research. With strengths in hemophilia, bleeding disorders, and sickle cell disease, faculty are driving innovations from the lab to the clinic.
