The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology provides expert care for a full spectrum of autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders, with specialized clinics for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, myositis, vasculitis, and scleroderma. With over fifty years of excellence, the division combines patient care, education, and research to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of rheumatic diseases. Faculty lead both clinical and laboratory investigations, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration to advance therapies and train the next generation of rheumatology leaders.

Research

The Division’s research focuses on uncovering the fundamental mechanisms behind arthritis, autoimmune, and connective tissue diseases to improve diagnosis, develop effective therapies, and ultimately find cures or preventive strategies. Key strengths include studying tissue injury, disease pathogenesis, and clinical aspects of conditions such as systemic sclerosis, lupus, myositis, rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, and osteoarthritis.
