Medical Student and Residency Training
Medical Students
Faculty in the Division serve as Course Director and Co-Director for the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Block Course for first-year medical students. In the second year, faculty teach in the Integrated Case Studies Course, while third-year students encounter rheumatology faculty during the Medicine Clerkship, either as attendings or as proctors for Physical Diagnosis. In the fourth year, 6-10 students elect a four-week Rheumatology elective, where they receive daily supervision and mentorship from faculty.
Medical Residents
Interns and senior residents rotate on the Rheumatology service for 2-4 weeks, participating fully in clinical care and teaching activities. The program currently supports residents from Internal Medicine, Dermatology, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, as well as visiting residents from other institutions. Faculty contribute to the annual resident lecture series and review rheumatology-specific MKSAP questions in three dedicated sessions each year.
