Patient Care

The Division of PACCSM delivers a full spectrum of clinical care through both inpatient and outpatient programs. Inpatient services span multiple UPMC facilities, including the PUH Medical Intensive Care Unit, PUH Advanced Lung Disease Unit, Shadyside Intensive Care Units and Pulmonary Consultation Service, Magee-Womens Hospital Pulmonary Consultation Service, and the Intensive Care and Pulmonary Consultation Services at UPMC East and UPMC McKeesport. Outpatient care is centralized at the UPMC PUH Comprehensive Lung Center (CLC), established in 1991 to bring the Division’s programs together under one coordinated hub. Serving as a leading regional and national resource for pulmonary care, the 12,000-square-foot CLC features 20 exam rooms, advanced pulmonary function testing, and an exercise physiology laboratory. With more than 20,000 patient visits annually, the CLC supports numerous subspecialty clinics dedicated to pulmonary medicine. Together, these integrated programs ensure patients receive seamless, state-of-the-art pulmonary care across the entire continuum of inpatient and outpatient services.
