Center for Innovative Antimicrobial Therapy (CIAT)

The Center for Innovative Antimicrobial Therapy (CIAT) was established to develop long-term solutions to the antimicrobial resistance crisis. Directed by Yohei Doi, MD, PhD, CIAT also serves as a platform to assemble and expand faculty expertise, building collaborative research programs to advance the field.

Priority areas, led by faculty from the Division of Infectious Diseases and collaborating departments in the School of Medicine, include mechanisms of resistance (Y. Doi), rapid diagnostics (V. Cooper), drug discovery (N. Sluis-Cremer), clinical trials (F. Silveira), FMT and alternative therapies (T. Bogdanovich), pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (R. Shields), and persistence and virulence (M.H. Nguyen).
