Omics and Systems Biology

The Omics and Systems Biology (OSB) Center in the VMI provides integrated expertise and support for conducting multi-omics studies and comprehensive data analysis across diverse experimental platforms. Led by Co-Directors Drs. Delphine Gomez and Satoshi Okawa, the center brings together deep expertise in transcriptomics, gene regulation, epigenetics, single-cell technologies, and advanced bioinformatics and biostatistics. The OSB Center offers both experimental and computational services, including customized project pipelines, high-quality sample preparation, and rigorous data interpretation, to accelerate discovery and enable multidimensional, multiplexed analyses.

Organized into a Pre-sequencing Unit (directed by Dr. Gomez) and a Post-sequencing Unit (directed by Dr. Okawa), the center is designed to foster collaboration and deliver end-to-end support for basic and translational research. Complementing existing VMI and PittMed cores, the OSB Center strengthens the institute’s mission by enabling innovative, collaborative, and data-driven scientific investigation.
