Basic and Translational Research Training

Department of Medicine faculty play an active role in the education of medical students, contributing nearly a quarter of the total teaching effort for medical students, a larger share than any other single department.

K Awardee to R Advancement Training (KARAT) Program

The KARAT program provides a broad range of career development activities and academic support including grant writing workshops, grant reviews, academic skills training, networking and peer support for our K/CDA awardees.

Physician-Scientist Incubator Program

The goal of the Physician Scientist Incubator program in Pittsburgh is to train the highest quality biomedical physician investigators, focusing at this time on those with MD degrees without PhD doctoral training who seek careers that involve pre-clinical research.   Read more
