Renal-Electrolyte Fellowship Program
Work-Life Balance
- First year fellows have a cap of writing 15 notes per day between the months of July and December. Between January and June, the cap changes to a maximum of 20 notes per day. Any clinical encounters above these caps are performed by the attending physician.
- All fellows, including first years, typically have 2 or 3 weekends off every month.
- For weekend calls, first year fellows do not see established patients. Established patients’ evaluation and clinical documentation are completed by an attending physician.
- We have a robust jeopardy system that is not used only for emergencies. It is activated if a fellow has a busy overnight call.
