Harsha Rao, MD has been awarded the status of Professor Emeritus of Medicine by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Rao joined the University of Pittsburgh in 1988 and during his time with us, he has held many roles, including Fellowship Program Director. Dr. Rao has also held many roles with UPMC, including Physician Director of Case Management and Director of Inpatient Services. Dr. Rao has been, and continues to be, the Chief of the Endocrine Division at VA Pittsburgh Health Care System since 2000. Dr. Rao has had an extraordinary career in endocrinology and throughout his time at the University of Pittsburgh. We are excited for him and his attainment of the Professor Emeritus of Medicine status.
