Niall Prendergast, MD

Dr. Niall Prendergast graduated from Harvard University in 2009 with a A.B. in Biochemical Science. He completed his M.D. at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine in 2014. During that time he was a member of the ACP and AAIM. He also received the Karl-Flance Resident Teaching Award and the Mentors in Medicine Award. Dr Prendergast has also been matched for the Innovative Medical Educator track. In his spare time he enjoys trivia, ultimate frisbee, and cooking.

Research Interests

Dr. Prendergast previously did research primarily in genetics/genomics, much of it in cancer biology. After changing his career path to pulmonary and critical care medicine, he started a clinical research project working with Dr. Roger Yusen trying to identify patients diagnosed with pulmonary embolism in the emergency department who would be safe to discharge home. They are currently extracting the data necessary to build a predictive model.
