Bio

Dr. Samira Bahagry graduated cum laude from St. Olaf College in Minnesota with a degree in Biology in 2011. She moved to Virginia to study medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she graduated in 2015. Dr. Bahagry moved to Pittsburgh to complete her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Presbyterian and Shadyside Hospitals. She remained at UPMC to continue training as part of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program. Her other interests include classic literature, lindy hop swing dancing, trying new foods, traveling and spending time with her husband and their Australian shepherd.

Research Interests

Dr. Bahagry previous studied the relationship between sleep apnea treatment and clinical outcomes in patients with severe obstructive lung disease. She plans to continue this research and is also interested in overall quality improvement measures.
