Bio

Kaveh graduated from the University of California, Berkley in 2003 with a B.A. in Computer Science. He subsequently worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley for the next few years, including at eBay and Microsoft. He completed his M.D at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in 2015. During that time he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. He was also granted the Award for Excellence in Basic Research, the Martin R. Liebowitz Award for Excellence in Medicine, and the Clinical Excellence Award. During his spare time Kaveh enjoys running, reading, music, software and hardware engineering, and cycling.

Research Interests

In medical school, Dr. Moghbeli investigated early cellular differentiation in yeast cells during meiosis. In residency, his research focused on the development of computer software for automated early recognition of ARDS. His current research focuses on lung injury and the development of new radioimaging techniques for detection of lung injury, as well as the use of machine learning for early detection of ARDS.
