We are pleased to announce the promotion of Mohamed H. Yassin, MD, PhD, to the rank of Associate Professor. Mohamed joined the Division of Infectious Diseases in 2009 as a Clinical Assistant Professor, and was appointed Medical Director of Infection Control in 2011 and Quality Chair in 2016.
Since joining the Division, Mohamed has been heavily involved in our clinical practice and teaching services, which have grown under his leadership. He has worked tirelessly as Director of Infection Control and his efforts have led to a decrease in hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). He has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PDOH) for success in reducing HAIs and meeting all of the PDOH targets.
