Graham Snyder, MD, MS, has been appointed to the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine. Graham joined the Division in July 2018 as a Visiting Associate Professor and Medical Director, Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology for the UPMC Health System.

Graham oversees efforts to prevent infection, as well as detect and stop outbreaks of infectious diseases at UPMC hospitals system wide. He leads and advises hospital-based campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of adhering to UPMC policies proven to prevent infection transmission, such as universal influenza vaccination, thorough hand hygiene and contact precautions.

Graham’s ongoing research projects focus on device-associated infections, including the transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms through gastrointestinal endoscopes and catheter-associated urinary tract infections. Through academic partnerships, Graham is leading UPMC in innovative pilot programs to track new drug-resistant pathogens and halt their spread. Currently, he leads the health system’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please join us in congratulating Graham!
