Educational Programs for Residents, Medical Students, and Other Learners
Our nation’s population of adults 65 and older is rapidly growing–roughly 10,000 Americans turn 65 each day. Even now, representing about 15% of the population, the over-65 age group consumes one-third of healthcare services and occupies one-half of all physician time. As the nation’s population ages, the healthcare workforce must adapt its training and expertise to meet the growing care needs of older Americans.
The Division of Geriatric Medicine is committed to teaching excellence. We strive to develop innovative educational programs for individuals in every stage of their health care career, from fostering a budding interest in geriatric medicine in promising high school students to improving the care of seasoned geriatricians with the award-winning Clinical Update in Geriatric Medicine.
