The White House announced the selection of 25 experts to the independent Coronavirus Commission for Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes, and the Division of Geriatric Medicine’s Dr. David Nace is one of them.  The commission’s mission is to assess the response of nursing homes to COVID-19 and make recommendations of best practices going forward.

Department of Medicine clinical leaders Dr. David Nace, Dr. Mark Gladwin, Deborah Brodine, and Nicole Fedeli assisted Governor Tom Wolf with recent legislation that addresses outbreaks of COVID-19 in nursing home facilities.

The legislation provides $350 million for academic medical center regional collaboratives with expertise in epidemiology, infection control, testing, training, and treatments to work more actively and collaboratively with the Pennsylvania nursing home industry.
