Joshua C. Cyktor, PhD, has been promoted to the rank of Research Assistant Professor of Medicine, retroactive to July 1, 2018.

Josh earned his PhD in Integrated Biomedical Science/Immunology in 2012 from The Ohio State University and then served as a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity at The Ohio State University. He joined the University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Infectious Diseases in 2013 as Research Project Manager. In 2015, he was appointed to the position of Associate Director, Virology Support Laboratory and then was promoted to the rank of Research Instructor of Medicine in 2016.

Josh has developed a growing record of accomplishment in leadership, teaching, laboratory research and clinical trial design and execution. His achievements have greatly enhanced the capabilities of the Pittsburgh Virology Specialty Laboratory and his efforts in maintaining accurate oversight of the clinical trial workload, resolving logistical laboratory issues, and effectively managing personnel have resulted in a major positive impact. I am confident that Josh will continue to make important contributions to the academic environment at the University of Pittsburgh and to the field of Infectious Diseases.
