Gavin Arteel, PhD received the University of Wisconsin – Madison’s “Alumni of the Year” award in the University’s Pharamcy-Toxicology Program in Spring 2019.  Dr. Arteel received this honor related to his internationally recognized liver disease research efforts.  Dr. Arteel, now a professor and associate chief for basic science in the University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the Pilot and Feasibility Core director of the Pittsburgh Liver Research Center, is currently working on better ways to diagnose and treat alcoholic liver disease.
