WHAT YOU’RE DOING NOW
I am a Senior Advisor with the UPMC Center for High-Value Health Care and a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Pittsburgh Division of General Internal Medicine.
HOW DID FELLOWSHIP BENEFIT YOUR CAREER?
The GIM Fellowship has opened important doors for me in my career. It helped me develop valuable skill sets in research design and analytics, leadership and management, communication, multi-tasking, and self-directed learning and strategy. It has allowed me to gain credibility in both research and operational capacities, and has facilitated connections with health system and health plan leadership.
WHY PITTSBURGH?
UPMC offers the ultimate package for training. Not only does it excel in clinical medicine, education, and research, the fellowship is housed in one of the strongest Divisions of General Internal Medicine in the country. Though my career path has been non-traditional, I have received phenomenal support from the Division to pursue my interests. Furthermore, at UPMC, mentorship is not treated as a faculty requirement; it is prioritized and valued at the highest levels. During my fellowship I was supported by an inspirational mentoring team that truly prioritized my training and that continues to serve as mentors post-fellowship.
