Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Division of Infectious Diseases is committed to inclusion across gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religious beliefs, language, age, and disability without exception. Diversity, equity, and inclusiveness are crucial to our missions in clinical care, education, and research, as well as to the health and well-being of our faculty, trainees, staff, and patients. We pledge to foster a culture of open-mindedness, compassion, and inclusiveness in all endeavors and expect our faculty and staff to uphold these values within all professional settings. The Division is committed to enacting policies and devoting resources to foster diversity in our clinical and research services and to create a work environment that promotes inclusion. We are equally committed to addressing any structural bias within our own organization, and we will work towards promoting health equity through our clinical, educational, and research missions.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in the Division of Infectious Diseases is chaired by Deborah McMahon, MD, Nicolas Sluis-Cremer, PhD, and Paula Ziemski. Current Committee members include representatives from the clinical, research, and administrative areas of the Division.
