EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Medical Students and Residents

The Division’s proud tradition of excellence in training medical students and residents continues to set the standard for superior patient care.

Medical Students

Division faculty are actively involved in the didactic and hands-on training of medical students. The faculty receive outstanding evaluations by medical students for both formal coursework in the second year, and clinical training in the third and fourth years.

The Endocrine Disorders Course is a critical component of our medical students’ second-year coursework. Faculty from the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism collaborate with faculty from five other departments to teach this course, which addresses the role of endocrine systems in maintaining homeostasis and examines common clinical presentation and treatment of endocrine disease.

Residents

Along with other endocrinology training programs nationally, the division proudly participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Because of the division’s unusually high clinical volumes, as well as the number of clinical faculty dedicated to teaching, training in clinical endocrinology provides exposure to a high-volume and exceptionally diverse patient population, providing an excellent training experience for our residents.
